Order from an AI agent (MCP)

orosy speaks both REST and MCP (Model Context Protocol). Connect this server to an AI agent like Claude or ChatGPT, and plain language works end to end: "find me a mug, add two to the cart, and show me the total."

The catalog behind it is 200,000+ products from Japanese suppliers, searchable through one API and orderable in one cart.

You get an API key by signing up in the buyer portal and passing review. See How to get an API key below.

What the agent can do

Tool What it does
search_products Search the unified catalog (space-separated words are ANDed; matches product name / brand / model number / category; sorted by relevance. An 8–13 digit number matches a JAN exactly, comma-separated for several)
get_product Product detail (all variations, wholesale price, list price, stock, images)
list_delivery_groups / list_categories Browse delivery groups (shipping fees and free-shipping thresholds) and categories
get_cart / add_to_cart / update_cart_item / remove_cart_item Cart operations with a tax-inclusive quote (responses include portal_cart_url, a link that opens the same cart in the portal — you can review it and place the order there yourself)
place_order Confirm the order
get_order_status Check order status (returns an authentication URL when 3D Secure is required)
list_orders List your orders, newest first (filter by standard / preorder)
quote_preorder Quote a preorder for a not-yet-released item — total and expected arrival date, no side effects
place_preorder Confirm a preorder (card authorized at creation; charged when confirmed, ships after arrival)
simulate_order [Test-only] Move a demo-key order through reservation confirmed / partially confirmed / cancelled / refunded — no real charge, no inventory movement; always rejected with a live key

Safety by design for agents

The server is built so an agent cannot commit you to a purchase on its own:

In short: agents search, compare, and build carts. You approve the final order.

How to connect

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http orosy https://wholesale-api.orosy.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer orosy_..."

After it connects, run /mcp to check the connection status and the tool list.

Claude (Desktop / claude.ai custom connectors)

Claude's "Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector" assumes OAuth. orosy MCP uses API-key (Bearer header) auth, so connect from a client that lets you set a header — Claude Code above, or any client that accepts the generic config below.

Generic (other MCP clients)

Any Streamable HTTP client can connect with just the URL and the Authorization header:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "orosy": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://wholesale-api.orosy.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer orosy_..." }
    }
  }
}

Try talking to it

"Search orosy for mugs, show me three with the lowest wholesale price, and if one looks good, add it to the cart and tell me the total."

The agent calls search_products → get_product → add_to_cart → get_cart in order, and always stops to show you the total before placing the order.

How to get an API key

  1. Sign up in the buyer portal at wholesale-portal.orosy.com.
  2. Pass review (usually quick).
  3. Your API key is issued, and you can start calling the API right away.

The portal UI is in Japanese — the guide walks you through it.
